New Boiler Installation in Watford & Hertfordshire

The right boiler for your home, fitted properly. We recommend what suits the way you live and give you a written price before any work starts.

Vaillant boiler fitted by MJ Services in a utility room

Choosing a boiler is about more than the brand. The size of your home, the number of bathrooms and how many people want hot water at the same time all decide whether a combi, system or regular boiler is the right fit. We look at all of it on a visit, explain the options in plain English and recommend the one that makes sense.

On the day, we remove the old boiler, fit the new one with tidy pipework, clean the system so the new boiler starts on clean water, and set up the controls. We then commission it, check every radiator warms up and show you how to use it. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers and registered with the manufacturer and local authority as required.

What a boiler installation includes

  • Removing the old boiler and fitting the new one
  • The flue and any pipework changes the boiler needs
  • Cleaning the system before the new boiler goes in
  • Thermostat and controls set up, including smart controls
  • Commissioning, testing and a full handover

Good to know

Approved installer for leading boiler brands

  • Vaillant Advance Installer
  • Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer
  • Baxi Approved Installer
  • Glow-worm Club Energy Installer

Being an approved installer means we are trained on these boilers and can register them for the manufacturer's warranty. New Vaillant boilers we install can come with a warranty of up to 7 years, depending on the model.

Signs it may be time for a new boiler

  • Breakdowns are becoming more frequent
  • The heating takes a long time to warm up or hot water runs out
  • Gas bills keep rising without a change in how you use it
  • An engineer has told you parts are hard to find
  • You are extending, adding a bathroom or adding underfloor heating

What affects the price

The price depends on the type and size of boiler, whether it stays in the same place, how much pipework changes and which controls you choose. A straight swap costs less than moving the boiler or converting a regular system to a combi. After the visit you receive a written price, so you know the full cost before anything starts.

“He was able to order a new boiler within a short period of time and changed it within few hours. It was a lot of work and quite challenging, but he embraced the challenge with a big smile. Once the work was completed, he left the area spotless and explained everything I need to know about the boiler..”

Questions

New Boiler Installation: common questions

Does a new boiler come with a warranty?

Yes. Every new boiler comes with a manufacturer's warranty. New Vaillant boilers we fit can come with up to 7 years, depending on the model, and we register the boiler with the manufacturer for you.

How long does a new boiler installation take?

A like-for-like replacement is usually done in a day. Moving the boiler or converting to a combi normally takes two to three days, and we confirm the timescale in your quote.

Which boiler is best for my home?

It depends on the size of your home and how much hot water you use at once. Combis suit most flats and smaller houses, while homes with two or more bathrooms often do better with a system boiler and cylinder. We recommend one after seeing your home.

Can you move my boiler to a different room?

Yes, in most cases. Moving a boiler needs new pipework and a new flue position, so it costs more than a straight swap, and we check what is possible on the visit.

Do I need a power flush with a new boiler?

Not always, but the system must be clean before a new boiler goes in. We check the condition of your system and recommend a chemical clean or power flush only if it needs one.
