Boiler Repairs in Watford & Hertfordshire

When the boiler stops, we find out why. We explain the fault and the cost of putting it right before any work starts.

Boiler opened up during a repair

Most boiler breakdowns come down to a handful of causes: low pressure, a failed part such as a diverter valve or fan, a blocked condensate pipe in cold weather, or a fault with the controls. We test the boiler properly to find the real cause rather than replacing parts until something works.

Once we know what is wrong, we tell you what the repair involves and what it will cost. If the boiler is old and the repair would cost a large part of a new one, we say so honestly and let you decide. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers.

  • Error code or lockout on the display

  • Leaks from the boiler or pipework underneath

What affects the price

The cost depends on the fault and the part needed. Some faults are fixed with an adjustment on the first visit, while others need a part ordering. We explain the repair and agree the price with you before fitting anything.

Questions

Boiler Repairs: common questions

Why does my boiler keep losing pressure?

Losing pressure usually means water is escaping somewhere, often from a leaking radiator valve, the pressure relief valve or the expansion vessel. We find where it is going and fix the cause, rather than just topping it up.

Is it worth repairing an old boiler?

Often it is, if the fault is a common part and the boiler is otherwise sound. If parts are hard to find or the repair costs a large share of a new boiler, we tell you so you can decide.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the property, avoid using switches or flames and call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999 straight away. Do not wait for a plumber.
